  • Afternoon Palate Cleanser: An All-Muppet Version of "Bohemian Rhapsody"

This one's making the rounds today, as well it should. It's a brand new, all-muppet version of Queen's classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," featuring 70 different Muppets and, our favorite, Animal asking for his mama. Cheers....

  • How to Keep Your Car Windows Safe In the Tenderloin

Jerry James Stone snapped this image while frolicking in San Francisco's Historic Tenderloin District last night. This sign, it seems, is supposed to keep rapscallions from smashing the vehicle's windows. How very depressing....

  • Help Children Have a Merry Xmas While Receiving a Lap Dance

Andy Wright/SF Weekly SF Weekly brings us some merry/horny news: the fine folks over at Market Street Cinema (a strip joint as seen via their NSFW site) are now accepting new unwrapped gifts for Toys for Tots in exchange for admission. Aw. Read more about this festive offer here....

"Jars O Fish" by kapshure. (Also, this is horrible, keeping bettas in tiny little jars. Please don't do this. Bettas do not belong on your desk in, you know, a little glass or mug. They need room to swim around, be pretty, blow bubbles, etc.) Update: Commenters are saying the small space isn't all that bad after all. A dramatic turn of events!...

  • Quote du Jour: Padma Lakshmi On Her Back

The phenomenal Dino-Ray Ramos met with Glitter star Padma Lakshmi, who visited Neiman Marcus SF recently, to talk about her new line of jewelry. The Top Chef hostess reveals -- at least! -- what the most beautiful part of a woman's body is. Discussing her new line of back necklaces, she informs Ramos, "The back is the most beautiful part of a women’s body, yet you never see it adorned." Until now! You can...

  • Closeup of Anti-Whoring Sign at Powell and Market

Photo by Troy Holden Frank Chu and the "Jesus Loves You" guy seem to get all of the crazy-loon-with-crazier-sign attention. It's just not fair So, here's a shot of the sign that the guy at Powell and Market, near the cable car turnaround, has by his side screams "damned whore, repent!" at passersby. While he's a hateful creature -- if someone knows his name, please let us know -- his sign is the most...

  • Afternoon Palate Cleanser: Kaleidoscopic Kitty

YouTube character Gay Carrington is, near as we can tell, a stoner transsexual puppet who occasional chimes in to talk to her fans in Old Hollywood-style English about her moods, pets, and experiences. She posted the above "kaleido-vision" video "while resting up" for her next real video, but we think it's positively brilliant. It stars her cat, Christina "Mooks" Carrington, and as far as stoner YouTubery goes, it's the tops. Enjoy....

    Photos: Twitter's New Office

Moving out of the LoRi (Lower Outer Rincon Hill)/South Park neighborhood, the folks at Twitter moved up Third Street to a sweeter, swankier pad. CEO Ev Williams's wife, Sara Morishige, reportedly aided with the interior design of the new office, reports Valleywag. Also, Twitter bees can also watch themselves in a mirror while they poop. Makes your sad little nonprofit office looks that more little and sad, doesn't it? Enjoy....

Bag Lady: The Seventh Heart at 1592 Market

Times are tough. Or so we've been told. So, in this economy it’s ideal to know where to go to get the most omph for your buck, especially if your tastes are a lot bigger than your wallet. For cocktails, obviously, it's happy hour (Bag Lady favors Orson Mon-Sat, and obviously the Castro for two-for-one’s anytime before 9 p.m.) For food it’s dining at home, or out during the week at any restaurant that has a special weekly or monthly price fix dining menus. Currently, Bar Bambino is at the top of the list with a 4-course dinner that will only set you back about $35. And for nightlife, it’s going out during the week when people are generally more unruly and “living life to the fullest.”

  • Sponsored Post: Pirate Radio, In Theatres Now

The following post is from our advertiser, Focus Features. Pirate Radio is the newest ensemble comedy from filmmaker Richard Curtis (screenwriter of Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill, and writer/director of Love Actually). This high-spirited film tells the story of 8 DJs whose love affair with Rock n Roll changed the world forever. In the 1960s a group of rogue DJs, on a boat in the middle of the Northern Atlantic, played rock records and broke the law all for the love of music. The songs they played united and defined an entire generation and drove the British government crazy. The band of rebels is lead by The Count, played by Academy Award Winner Philip Seymour Hoffman. Pirate Radio also stars Bill Nighy, Rhys Ifans, Nick Frost, Kenneth Branagh, and Tom Sturridge, and features an unbelievable selection of music including The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Cream, and The Beach Boys, just to name a few. Pirate Radio in theatres now!
